[Ellie really can't help but laugh out loud. It makes her way into her next words, which sound more than a little openly curious. And it's a safer topic than their mutual interest in each other.]

[ If Ellie could see the blush on Glimmer's cheeks at that question. ]

...Yeah. He's kinda been my best friend since we were kids. My only friend for a long time.

I think at some point I just realized that he was important to me in a different way than I'd thought.

From what you've told me about him he seems like an awesome guy.

[The kind of person that Glimmer really should be going for, in Ellie's opinion -- she's not trying to put herself down, just. Appreciating what she's heard about him. She can't dislike the dude.]

Well... at least you're not as bad as I was. The first time I fell in love I didn't even realize that I had, at all.

[Ellie lets out a rusty laugh. The sting has finally started to go out of the memory.]

She took me on a whole-ass date and I didn't even realize it. I thought kissing her was my own half-baked idea.

Ellie! Oh no!

[ Glimmer breaks into giggles. ]

That must have been so awkward.

Dude, I apologized right after kissing her. Awkward doesn't begin to cover it.

[ Glimmer sounds like she's being overcome with laughter. ]

She was confused about that part, too.

[A laugh bubbles up through her words, only barely catching at the edges. It's taken a long time to move on, to tell herself that it's okay. It hurts, but it feels good to talk about her, too. Somebody should know about Riley.]

[ Glimmer's laughter subsides a little as she sprawls out on the bed. There's a faint sigh. ]

...I haven't actually had my first kiss yet.

[Ellie laughs under her breath.]

I had like one friend growing up. I never thought of kissing him until pretty recently. Besides, he probably never thought of me that way...
