[ And of course, she does. Glimmer is waiting, wrapped in a cloak against autumn chill. When she spots Holden there's an energetic wave. ]

[ he's dressed in layers, himself, long sleeves and coat and sturdy boots against the cold. there's something nostalgic about this kind of weather; the montana of his earth still gets bitter winters, and he spent plenty of time doing last minute work on the farm before the snow'd set in.

he smiles in response to her enthusiasm, gestures in offer towards a nearby bench. they can sit, or they can walk, while he fills her in. ]

Hey. I'll try not to take up too much of your time.

[ not much of a break, really, him offering dire warnings. hopefully she can still get in a minute of doing something relaxing before going back to work. ]

[ Glimmer smiles, turns towards the bench as Harden gestures. ]

I'm not in a rush. It's nice to get outside, even if it's cold.

[ jim moves to sit next to her, considers how he wants to start; but decides, ultimately, to just get into it. ]

Venatori have a special interest in capturing anchor-bearers. [ so: not a rifter-specific danger, but natives are more likely to already know this than rifters. ] They want to experiment on people like us, figure out how we work, how the shard of Fade can be used. We have reason to believe they've been trying to find rifts, too, and grab people before we can. They're a large part of why it's important to be careful who knows about your anchor, outside of Kirkwall.

[ There's a brief flicker of expression on Glimmer's face--something unhappy and concerned. ]

...Oh. Experiment? That... doesn't sound good.

No, [ he agrees. ] That's why it's important every anchor-bearer understand the risks.

[ Glimmer exhales softly, her brow furrowing. It's not as if this place has been all sunshine and daisies but this new misery added on top of everything feels... heavy. She swallows, then crosses her arms. ]

Can I ask you something?

[ he nods, says, ]

[ there's plenty he still doesn't know, after a year here, but he can try. it's what he's here for, right now. ]

How long did it take you to... um. Get used to it here? I've been here half a year and I'm kind of settled but I still feel out of place half the time.
