PERSONALITY:

Impulsive: Glimmer, despite the best efforts of her teachers and her mother, is an impulsive, straight-forward young woman. She has a tendency to act without thinking and gets easily frustrated by inaction when she feels that she could be doing something useful instead of sitting around. It is this impulse that leads her to be swayed to try and use the Heart of Etheria during season 4 of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. The result of this action is Glimmer nearly setting off the Heart and pulling the Etheria back into normal space, thus placing it at the attentions of Horde Prime. Her impulsive nature means that she can often-times be short-sighted and tends to get easily frustrated when her leadership is questioned or when her friends disagree with her on the correct course of action. This impulsiveness, when combined with her stubborn nature, can sometimes make her come off as selfish or self-centered, even if she seems to think she is putting others first--see, again, her desire to utilize the Heart of Etheria. Her friends see her desire to use the Heart as dangerous and even selfish, based on Glimmer's desire to be back out in the action. Meanwhile, Glimmer believes that she needs to use the Heart in order to defeat the Horde once and for all in order to keep her friends safe.

Short-tempered: Glimmer gets angry easily. It is often a righteous anger, as she has a keen sense of right and wrong and hates seeing others suffer, but this doesn't keep her anger from being destructive or harmful to either Glimmer or others. During season 4, she grows impatient and angry with her friends, whom she feels are not listening to her or respecting her as queen--as a result, she takes rash actions that eventually put everyone and everything she cares about in danger. Her short fuse sometimes means she can lash out at her friends or others around her, something which ends up causing her distress early in season 5. Glimmer is captured by Horde Prime and is unsure if she will be able to reconcile with Adora or Bow, leading her to feel guilty that she allowed her anger to come between them.

Kind: Glimmer is a kind young woman with a large heart. She cares deeply about her friends and about the people she feels responsible for. She often throws herself into dangerous situations for the sake of her friends and is unerringly loyal to them and to the protection of her people. She unwaveringly supports both Bow and Adora when they suffer from self-doubt and never loses faith in them. When those around her are in need of support, she is quick to offer them a shoulder to lean on. When faced with the knowledge that she has acted poorly and hurt her friends in season 5, Glimmer does everything she can to make amends, apologizing sincerely to both Adora and Bow. Glimmer cares deeply for those around her and has a strong sense of justice, right, and wrong which drives her to help others when she can.

Brave: Glimmer has been fighting against the Horde since she was about 15 or 16, and has much experience with struggle. She routinely faces down dangers ranging from killer robots to Horde soldiers and evil conquerors without flinching. While she can get emotional and has even wept when faced with seemingly insurmountable obstacles, she never gives up and stubbornly continues to fight in spite of her fears. When Horde Prime outlines his plans for Etheria and offers to spare her father if she will give up and submit to him, Glimmer stubbornly defies him by breaking one of his prized trophies. She does this despite being trapped and powerless on his vessel and not knowing if she will ever be rescued.

Insecure: Glimmer is still young and has been forced to take on the mantle of being queen as her mother sacrificed herself to save Etheria. Despite Glimmer's certainty in much of her actions, she has still struggled with feeling insecure or unsure of herself since the beginning of the show. Before her connection with the moon stone grew stronger, she struggled with feeling weak or burdensome, as she would have to rest herself after limited use of her teleportation magic. This insecurity also manifests in the way that she lashes out at her friends, Bow and Adora, when they disagree with her decision making in season 4. She feels that others do not respect her as queen or the authority she is supposed to be able to wield.

Fighting: Glimmer has solid combat skills and is shown punching, kicking, and otherwise engaging in hand-to-hand combat through SPOP. It's safe to assume that she has some capability to hold her own in a fight.

Administration: Despite being a new queen, Glimmer has had to struggle with the tasks and busywork associated with managing both a kingdom and a war effort, and so has some experience with the paperwork and managerial labor needed to organize groups of people towards a common goal.

NEW POWER: Phasing: Glimmer gains the ability to pass through solid objects, such as furniture, walls, doors, etc. When this first manifests, Glimmer will be able to only pass through relatively narrow objects, and will only be able to partially penetrate all but the narrowest of obstacles(i.e. stick her head through a door to see who's on the other side of it, reach through a shut window or solid wall). She can pass through a hanging bedsheet or towel, or even a window pane or the windshield of a car but cannot pass entirely through the outer wall of a building or a solid door. She is unable to interact with any physical objects while phasing and can only carry with her objects she already holds or is wearing.
POWER REASONING: Glimmer is a stubborn, impulsive young woman who's used to thinking on her feet. Phasing works perfectly for her, as it allows to bypass her problems without worrying too much.
